angel garcia can cause major damage if danny loses a fight where angel talks **** about a fighter that danny loses to, danny should fire his dad or tell his dad to quiet down someday

You need an "IT" factor to be a superstar. Fighters like Floyd, Pac, RJJ, Bhop, ODLH, Judah, etc. have an IT factor. Fighters like Dawson, Garcia, Bradley, etc. do not. There is really nothing they can do about it to be honest, they just do not have that superstar quality. As far as Danny, he is a good fighter, but does nothing "great". Whether you love/hate Pac, Floyd, Cotto, Bhop, etc....they are all great at certain things or have something intangible that makes them a superstar. Danny will never be one, no matter who he beats sorry. He is just not a dynamic fighter. I mean maybe something will happen to change that? Not sure but as of right now no he will never have popularity like Cotto.
EXCELLENT POST!!!!! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Depends on how the Puerto Ricans treat Rican-Americans I guess.
In Mexico for example, no one pays attention to the Mexican-Americans. They're considered "fake" Mexicans down here.
How are the Ricans about this whole situation?

He's not being marketed as a Puerto Rican fighter and that's probably the biggest roadblock to him right now. I don't necessarily buy that it's the fans who won't "accept" him. Fernando Vargas is a Mexican-American and he was accepted (albeit briefly) by Mexican fans at the outset, culminating in huge support against rivals Trinidad and, of course, the "fake Mexican." in fact, at one point I think Vargas was referring to himself as the real Mexican, even though he represented the U.S. in the Olympics.
In order to become a star, Garcia would have to continue to win impressively (no easy task), form a steady base (Puerto Rican and/or Black) and then find a rival (Rios?).
