Realistically, it will never happen. Broner would not shoot strait up to welterweight and Cotto would not come down to 150. If they did though, Broner would beat the hell out of Cotto. Broner is on the road to becoming a much greater fighter than Cotto.

broner is still unproven at higher weights. yes he has all the talent and potential and yes he is big at the weight he is currently fighting, but why are you guys rushing so much? you guys make it look like weight doesnt matter in boxing. he has a tough 140 and 147 ahead of him, let alone cotto at 154..
you made it seem to look like cotto's a bum and would be beaten by a 135lb fighter easily because he lost to trout, yet he gave floyd one of his toughest bouts..

so to answer that question, i think cotto KO's him.

I voted Cotto by KO. Cotto has seen better days but he still has to much skill and power to lose to a promising lightweight.If Broner grows into a welterweight in a few years then I would pick Broner but Cotto is still to strong for lightweights.
