    Current Underachievers

When we look at fighters like Pac, Floyd and Donaire, we can safely say that they fulfilled their potential. But fighters like Meldrick Taylor and Ike Ibeabuchi and maybe Prince Naseem should have had more success.

So who are your top three current underachievers? Here's my list:

Andre Dirrell - the tallest fighter at his weight class and arguably the fastest above welterweight, he's yet to win a world title. He's pushing 30 and the only name on his record his Abraham (although most people feel he beat froch). He might be the only guy at 168 who can give Ward a challenge, but he's gotta get back in the ring first.

Amir Khan - fast hands, decent power, and blessed with star quality, Khan should be the one fighting Mayweather in 2013. Yet, he's been beaten 3 times by guys who aren't as good as him. One more loss and he becomes an undercard fighter.

Chad Dawson - apart from his victory over Adamek, Dawson hasn't accomplished much. He's padded his resume with repeated fights against old fighters, but I don't think a fighter should ever be given credit for beating old men unless they're a lot bigger than him. His abilities put him in anyone's top 10 list; his achievements don't.

Great list actually. Khan came to my mind first. Amazing talent that he has yet to hone. A guy with his skill losing to Garcia because he fought the only kind of fight he could lose is telling. He should have embarrassed Danny.

Dawson is what a 4 time champion and current lineal champ at 175..

Khan is what a 2 time champion

both have had pretty damn good careers and reached their potential imo sometimes people expect to much

Really?. I disagree, although I did expect him to be competitive against Klitschko. Haye was the undisputed cruiserweight champ and did win a title at heavyweight. He's still the best heavyweight not named Klitschko.

I think Khan needs to at least win a title at 147 before he reaches his potential. Dawson may be the top dog at 175 but he really struggles whenever he fights a young guy who punches back.

Looking forward to the Garcia/Pascal rematches.

Khan reached his potential already. He does some things really well but hes not well rounded, hes got weaknesses. I dont think he will ever be back on top or ever be the best in a division again. One loss you could write off as bad luck but its happening over and over, its a trend.

Donaire though, I dont think he is living up to his potential by fighting guys like Arce. He is incredibly skilled but he isnt challenging himself. He could beat mares if he could be bothered to make that fight.

Dawson I think did about as good as he can do. He is skilled but not everyone can be an ATG.

Khan is my favourite superstar, although now his ability drop down more, but I still like him. I support him forever.

The only thing Khan needs is a defence, but if his career has in fact peaked then his talent's been wasted. Then again, he's made millions of dollars so no need to feel bad for the guy.

Donaire's knocking out old guys at 122, but that's who Arum keeps putting in front of him. However, he did blast out a lot of top guys from 112-118 and he's likely to fight Rigo next (but we can't give credit for that until he actually beats him).

Dawson is a mystery to me. He has everything a fighter needs to be great, but he's stuck at good.

I think Chris John is another fighter for this list. Apart from a questionable decision against Marquez, his biggest name is Rocky Juarez. And it's not like there weren't any good fighters in his weight class - gamboa, salido, lopez... He's by no means a great fighter, but he could have done more.
