As Heredia stated in the 24/7, the key to remember is that muscle is denser than fat is. A pound weighs a pound regardless of whether it's water, fat, or muscle. The only thing that differs is the volume of space that it occupies. So JMM added muscle while burning fat which allowed him to be at the weight he needed to be at without having the excess fat which he had used to gain weight in the past.

Against Floyd, JMM looked bloated and sluggish because he simply gained fat and worked a little bit on strength training. Against Pac, he worked heavily on conditioning and developing his fast twitch muscles (ones used for explosiveness like a sprinter instead of the slow twitch ones like a marathon runner).

Look into HIIT routines and Tabata routines, they help lean you out while allowing you to develop your cardiovascular threshold and explosive muscles. It takes a while to get there, hence the 4 months of training he did with Heredia prior to the fight.

You don't need steroids to get in that kind of shape, just hard work and knowledge.

The irony of conspiracy theorist on boxing scene is amazing. Shamless guys. When Pacman gains weight & ko's guys that have been bigger than him his entire career, it's all natural. But when Marquez bulks up & ko's a fighter than is really his size, questions abound.

I know, I first started P90X a few years ago and had lost like 6 or 7 pounds and this guy I knew was asking me if I was on roids because I looked a lot bigger. I just laughed it off and told him that I had actually went down 2 pant sizes, he swore I was on some type of stuff but I was like man, protein powder once a day after a workout and that's about it.

Its not hard to do, its not rocket science. Proper training and nutrition will easily get you there.

obviously natural despite widespread PED usage in all other sports
