Rigo would outclass, outbox, and dominate Donaire. Donaire has no credentials to be talking like this..at least Rigo is considered one of the greatest amateur fighters of all time..thats more of an accomplishment than anything Donaire has done.
Nonito has no credentials? He one shot kod his two biggest threats. What exactly has Rigo done?
I've seen Rigo train and fight up close and personal. Dude is very skilled yet very, very passive when it comes to fight time. I don't think we've gotten a chance to see Rigo in with quality talent to show what he really has as a Pro. Him jumping into a fight with Donaire IMO would be trouble. Rigo is small in comparison to Donaire.
He's not THAT small compared to him. Shorter yes, but reach wise they are comparable, which is what matters.
People keeps forgetting how hard Rigo hits as well, especially to the body. It will be very interesting to see Rigo in a fight that actually tests his skill level.
People keep forgetting that the reason Rigo is able to turn these aggressive fighters into tame guys that don't want to let their hands go is because he hits so hard and is so damn precise with his shots.
Donaire is top 5 p4p fighter in the world and has fought the top fighter. Rigo is a amatuer legend who hasnt done shot in the pro. Its a know fact that the pro is a whole different beast than the amatuer. Donaire is well proven pro.

Though i concede Amateur skill doesnt translate directly to Professional game, Amateur skill DEFINITELY is something to consider in regards to being successful.
tell us about Sergio Martinez stellar amateur career.
If Donaire/Rigo happens next, I won't complain. I just don't think it's the ideal situation for both guys, especially Rigo. Coming off a good win against Poonsawat, a hard-nosed veteran that brings power and pressure, while being on the same card as Nonito would've created a nice buzz for the match-up. Rigo still hasn't answered some questions that I have, and his punch resistance is an issue.
Nonito would punish Rigondeaux. He is a devastating puncher and this isn't the amateurs where you only fight 3 rounds with headgear on.
The question is will Bob Arum make the fight or is he going to let it marinate? We already know he won't make a matchup with Abner Mares so there shouldn't be anything stopping Rigo from being Nonito's next opponent.
I always believed Rigondeaux would loss to Donaire if they fought not because he is not a good fighter but because Donaire is simply of another level with more physical advantage, experience, power and speed. Simply, Rigondeaux is not of Donaire's level. And I doubt if Arum would make the fight because he knows better than to throw Rigo into lion Donaire's pit at this time. He's staring at a bright future promoting Rigo business wise. And Donaire undoubtedly is Arum's next up and coming gravy train. Both TRP fighters would do better without fighting each other. We should expect Donaire vs Mares next. It's just all business.
