What a crap article. Doesn't this idiot have anything better to write about? Gatti had WORLD CLASS HEART and COURAGE. Heart and courage are just as tangible as any other skill. Gatti and Ward helped show the world what a man can endure, they pushed themselves to the absolute limit. Congratulations to Arturo 'Thunder' Gatti.

the author said it all himself
Gatti was an action hero who won't be forgotten
Hill was the top dog at LHW for several yrs before Roy took over
why not let them in the HOF?
HOF has always been more about sentiment than greatness anyway

Mike Tyson lost all his big fights and nobody seemed to have a problem w/ him getting in. He got in because of his "fame" and notoriety more than his accomplishments yet people have a problem with Gatti getting in.

did he? beating an all time great undefeated lineal champ seems like a big fight. i guess because he won so easy it doesn't count. if tyson won a split decision it would be greater.

What fight are you talking about? I don't remember Tyson beating any all time greats. I remember him losing badly to all time greats.

                Thats my 2 cents..

                  @David P. Greisman

Your opinion is heard, just, it doesn't matter that much.

Its the Boxing hall of fame.

NOT the Boxing hall of 'skill'

Was Gatti the most skilled technition? No

                  Was Gatti undefeated? No

Did Gatti win most of his biggest fights? No

BUT, Was Gatti a "fan pleaser" and "famous". YES, he was!

That my friend, David P. Greisman, is why he is being inducted into the BHOF!

David, be more objective in the future. That way your viewed with more intelligence.

                  Regards & Merry Christmas

Gatti was pretty much a FNF fighter.

                    Virtgill meh not HOF worthy.

Love Gatti but he wasnt that great that would warrant HOF status.

but if they letting clowns like Joe Cortez and Silvester Stallone into the HOF then yea why not get Gatti in there.

The Boxing HOF is pretty much a joke anyways, bunch of biased US based voters with allegiances to certain fighters/promoters.

They need to change voting structure.

Meh might as well make a new HOF and only put the truly elite fighters in there. Not Joke actors and people like Joe Cortez widely considered to be the worst ref in the world and a complete joke.

Never fails. The guy who calls the other guy ******ed goes ahead and screws up second grade spelling. Regardless of what people think of Gatti's credentials (I think there are valid arguments on both sides), the writer does make several very good points about the HOF process.
