Does Marquez deserve Fighter of the Year based just on the Pacquiao win?

Nonito Donaire won a vacant title, unified against another champion, and then beat the linear champion of the weight class. (he also retired Arce but that doesn't mean much.) He did more overall IMO.

I think there is enough knowledge among the prominent selectors at Ring, ESPN, and here to overcome that. Lopez-Ortiz isn't in the same ballpark as the Jaro win.

I cant respect the opinion of anyone that says Berto-Guerrero was fight of the year. It was ugly and painful to watch.

I originally though Marquez should get fighter of the year, but Lampley convinced me it should be Donaire because of his 24/7 testing.

There were also better overall rounds than Chavez/Martinez Rnd 12, but no other round was anywhere near as exhilarating considering the context.
