I like Kessler & Froch but they are a class below Andre Ward. They are also-rans along with everybody else in the division. All this noise about not leaving Oakland is off the mark. Ward dominated Froch in Atlantic City and he'd beat them both in their own living rooms. Although having Carl's girlfriend screaming in his ear that close would definitely be a deterrent. The only dude that's going to trouble Andre is Gennady Golovkin and Ward may move up by the time he's ready.

Ward has no passport. Its irrefuteable.

Ward has defend against his mandatory (Kessler) before June. If Ward wants to go ahead with the Pavlik fight, he'll be somewhat pressed for time. He might have to pay Kessler some step-aside money or, perhaps more likely, vacate his title. Giving up his title could make sense for him, since a Kessler fight could well end up in Denmark. Ward wont like that scenario.

It's probably more likely that Froch-Kessler II happens, with Ward sometime in the fall for the winner. And it would only be in Denmark if it went to purse bids. If Sauerland really wanted the fight, and to have it there, an offer far better than a purse bid would be on the table.

I think it would be great to see Ward go on the road. It's gonna cost to make it happen. For now, there is probably some truth in Froch and Kessler keeping his name hot while they look to do something else for a wee longer.

I don't think Ward is concerned. He earned over $1.5M for easy work vs. Dawson. He'll make similar money for even easier work vs. Pavlik in March. If the Kessler or Froch rematches ever happen (which they won't), he'll make even more money for similar easy work. Ward will continue to make over a million a fight for pretty easy work for the foreseeable future.

I don't think Ward is jealous of the ink either. ESPN and Boxing Scene have him #1 pound-for-pound. The Ring and Yahoo! have him #2 pound-for-pound behind Floyd Mayweather Jr. He is the undefeated, WBA, WBC, lineal/The Ring super middleweight champion, Super Six winner, and former Olympic gold medalist. Life is good for Andre Ward.

          What have you done lately?

I know that both Hearn and Sauerland are eager to make Froch-Kessler II. So much so that country purses and split has reportedly been agreed upon.

I guess a lot depends on whether Bute elects to exercise his rematch clause with Froch or not.

As for Ward-Kessler II, as much as I'd like that fight to in Denmark, I doubt it very much. I think New York or Vegas is more likely. Oakland? No way.

Cliff, personally I'd like for Kessler to fight Ward next rather than Froch. A Froch fight will always be there and the chance of a return against Ward will never be better than now. Furthermore I wouldn't like for Ward to fight the remains of the winner of the war that will be Froch-Kessler II.

            What do you think?

I think you're nuts if you believe anything Sauerland says about the offers they make or the fights they want.

They sure as hell aren't making Ward any serious offers to come to Denmark right now because, as Cliff pointed out, they would much rather sit on their asses and wait for a purse bid. This way they can save their money (all they care about, not fans of boxing) and pray that Ward vacates and they can turn the belt into another fake bum belt like Abraham has.

They will never pay Ward what it would take, and what he deserves, to come to Denmark. Of course they will say that they did knowing that you would believe even their most ridiculous assertions.

I'd rather see Froch-Kessler II while they're both on a roll. It's just a better fight. I don't think either can beat Ward but there should be time to recover for whoever gets the rematch.

                    Cool story bro.

You might be interested in knowing that Sauerland is looking to make AA-Dirrell II in Germany this summer if AA gets by Stieglitz.
