I certainly will miss Larry, and everyone that has been watching HBO boxing should....love his quotes, Larry lines are freaking funny as hell, he asks the right questions I guess everyone comes to an end we just lost emmanuel steward without getting to say his final thoughts, 35 years is not just anything is a tough job and he is great at it, will miss Larry Merchant.....Max Kellerman is cool but no one will be like Larry/Jim DUO ever !!!! thats history right thereComment

Yes, him and Emanuel Steward will both be greatly missed by me. Already missing Steward when I watched the Pac fight.Comment

When you have people like Lampley, Jones, and Kellerman ****ting up fights with their bias and countless other occurrences then yes you have no choice but to miss Merchant.
He's the one to call it out like it was. Not at all surprised by the people that disliked him though. If you were a fan of a boring fighter he probably made you angry.Comment

In the past 2-3 years or so he really went down as a commentator. I don't know if he drinks on the job or he's a little senile but some of the comments he makes have me go ''WTF?''.
So i guess i won't really miss him. He used to be a pretty good commentator but it's time to move on.Comment

For the people in this thread still thinking that Merchant might be replaced with an unbiased, younger commentator, it's already confirmed that Kellerman is replacing him full time. So it's Lampley, Jones, and Kellerman on WCB broadcasts. Jones was Steward's replacement and Kellerman is now Merchant's replacement.Comment

hate him or love him, HBO boxing will not be the same.
Larry was often the one calming the rest of the guys down and he had a sense of wisdom and experience that the others have not yet executed.
I like Jim and Max too but they tend to get wild and emotional for no reason sometimes, Larry pretty much remains calm the whole time just sticking to whats important in the match.Comment
