Official, Pacquiao was going to KO Marquez

I think Manny was looking great. But I think there’s more to it.
We all know that JMM is a smart counter puncher, and a very smart boxer, because of this, Pac has not been able to just blow him out like he does most of his opponents.
JMM told Roy Jones Jr before the fight that: "I’m smarter than Pacquiao", when he asked him what will be his advantage in this fight? Roy said the way he said this “scared him.”
I think JMM was getting tagged like that because he abandoned part of his game plan that he used in the first few fights so he can set up his strong counterpunches, so in order to do this, he had to take more risk and be more open, hence getting hit a lot more.
Listen to the commentary, they said "Manny is hitting him with hard shots flush on the chin and JMM is not even blinking, he’s a man focused..." he was focused on his game plan, he knew he’d be getting tagged and possibly knocked out if he couldn’t execute his plan fully. But I think he said: **** it it’s either now or never, but either way this ends tonight.
Look when they were showing the dressing rooms. Pac was watching the other fight, talking and laughing, just chilling; they said he didn’t even have his gloves on yet.
When they showed JMM it was the total opposite, he was gloved and laced up, working on punches with a super serious face. They commented on this, he was in a zone, totally focused on his mission.
Really examine the whole night.
All this was on purpose that’s why I don’t think it was a lucky punch; I don’t think it was luck by a longshot. He knows Manny’s style and can practically feel what he’s gonna do, I’m pretty sure everyone saw the vid of him dropping his sparring partner with the same shot, and we’ll be fools to say that this Veteran/Future hall of famer doesn’t have the intelligence to set up a counter right.Comment

You people are funny. Sure Manny was looking good but to say he was going to KO Marquez or even say that manny was gonna keep outboxing Marquez for an easy victory is abserd. Marquez is a superb boxer with skills who could have easly turned things around and outbox manny to a victory. Manny was being to agressive which is why he got cought twice and if he didnt get KOd he could have gotten KOd in the later rounds do to his agressivness.Comment

WELL YOU'LL NEVER REALLY KNOW cuz he got KTFO!!!!!!!!Just rewatched the fight. Aside from Pacquiao landing nearly 50% of his punches to only like 20% from Marquez, Marquez was looking like a smashed up pumpkin. I honestly don't think he would have lasted 6 more rounds had that punch not landed. But that's boxing for you and I'm not hating, I'm just stating the clear facts.
Bring on Pac-Marquez 5!Comment

Saw it again tonight. It was an awesome fight.
Marquez was in big trouble in that 5th round. Marquez was losing the 6th as well but with just 1 second left, he changed it all around.
Manny stumbled as he threw that right. That made him completely miss his punch and made his head stay hanging out there for Marquez to hit.
In the 5th, a similar situation happened. Manny didn't stumble, saw the punch then reacted and absorbed it well. That was the difference.
But Manny was performing better than Marquez until that shot in the 6th.Comment

This is Boxing
Pacquiao COULD have won via a KO or perhaps Marquez could haveADJUSTED and KO'd Pacquiao the latter rounds.
Anything is possible
Both men delivered an epic entertaining fight and we as fans should be proud of that and threads like this are all about excuses about what could have been to salvage ego and hurt feelings.
Lets assume hypothetically speaking that Marquez got knocked out BUT he lead in the compu box with most punches thrown and connected but he still lost by KO in the 11th round or so and Pacquiao is bleeding and was dropped a few times but still managed the KO victory. Does that mean that Marquez/Boxing fans should declare "Oh Wait Marquez was on his way to winning Pacquiao connected with a lucky punch!" How would you or other Pacquiao/Boxing fans feel about that???
I respect both fighters but this is why Boxing is so special because ANYTHING can happen win lose or draw.
Of course we are all entitled to our own opinion and all sides have the same equal rights to express them on a public forum.
Take care allComment
