I'm not a Chris Byrd "fan", but you have to give him credit for accomplishing what he has at Heavyweight.
How many of Byrd's opponents end up with torn rotator cuffs?

and what has he accomplished at HW? aside from a few gift decisions and victories over bums, wining one title, fighting only a few times as "champion", and curing insomnia for boxing fans around the world?Originally posted by marvdaveI'm not a Chris Byrd "fan", but you have to give him credit for accomplishing what he has at Heavyweight.Comment

He is undersized and lacking power but still competes. I'm not here to make an argument over it. Every victory at HW these days are against "bums"Originally posted by TheEvilSaintand what has he accomplished at HW? aside from a few gift decisions and victories over bums?

people forget that he medaled at the olympics as a MIDDLEWEIGHT and started his career weighing in at 170lbs.Originally posted by marvdaveI'm not a Chris Byrd "fan", but you have to give him credit for accomplishing what he has at Heavyweight.
people give toney and jones so much credit for moving up and winning the title. byrd had the balls to set his sights on the heavy title from the very start and made the commitment to doing what needed to be done to make it happen, that you cannot deny him. he very easily could have been light heavy champ, or cruiser champ and bull****ted around for 6 years against guys that couldnt touch him.
that being said, hes been done for 3 years now.Comment

Doctors recommend tapes of Byrd's fights as a natural supplement for sleeping pills. Toney's last fight was unbelievable in terms of skills displayed. They both might be former middleweights but there is no comparison between them today. In short, Byrd sucks.Originally posted by Hitman932people forget that he medaled at the olympics as a MIDDLEWEIGHT and started his career weighing in at 170lbs.

Boxing2005, do doctors really recommend this? My father is a doctor, so I will ask him.Originally posted by boxing2005Doctors recommend tapes of Byrd's fights as a natural supplement for sleeping pills. Well, Chris' campaign under 200 lasted less than 6 months. So I think it was less "the balls to make it happen" and more that he was probably sick of trying to totally kill himself to make weight after the Olympics... that's what it looks like to me, anyway. He looks very natural at 215ish and always has.Originally posted by Hitman932people forget that he medaled at the olympics as a MIDDLEWEIGHT and started his career weighing in at 170lbs.

No, not really. But I almost fell asleep during last fight, that was one of the most boring fights I've ever seen.
