Considering the conclussion of that last fight and now looking at his face..Well it's the smartest idea and choice he can have. While he did land two thunderous punches the fact is he beyond that did not look good, adapting a style of take take take to land that one solid punch is not a good look for 39. Take it and run..he can eat off that KO for at least 10 years.

      Retire.

And if you want more money don't worry, you'll make plenty from endorsements, commentary and being a trainer.

Very few athletes retire on top. Marquez has had a great career and scored the best win of it. It would be awesome if he rode off into the sunset, leaving all the butthurt Manny fans in the dust.

              Listen to this clown.....

Plankiao was 1 point up kid, your assumption that he would have won the fight if it wasn't for the fact that he got stretched is absurd, but I guess you will eat off that for at least 10 years.

              You clowns are pathetic.

Your idol got destroyed, deal with it

JMM has talked about retiring in the past so this should come as no surprise to people. Also, this man can finally throw away the Manny shrine hidden in his attic. He was literally obsessed with Manny and NEEDED to beat him. Now that he has reached his goal, there's nothing left for him. A 5th fight would be entertaining. A 5th fight would generate millions. But a 5th fight would block other potential fights that we all would like to see as well. JMM obviously doesn't need the money, although I'm sure it'll be tempting.

That said, I'd like to see him fight again, but not vs Rios who doesn't deserve it. The fight I wanted to see was JMM/Cotto but Trout messed that up. And Cotto doesn't wanna lose the weight. JMM/Floyd II....more than likely a pointless repeat. (And impossible with GBP/TR beef) So, either way, I won't complain if he retires or not.

He should go out on top. He still looks like his face is busted up. Great fight though.

Can't blame Marquez if he retires now!

He knows he got lucky! And he knows he will never done it again!

Plus... the next fight have random drug testing...
