    Does anyone else do this?

Everytime i watch a fight i keep score myself, but the difference is, i only watch the fights on mute, and i dont like to watch what the stats are or what lederman or any body else has on there scorecards. I also dont watch the replays between the round until i have actually put a score down in PEN.

I usually have buddies over a few times a week so that we can watch boxing on any channel that is available. Most of them do not like to watch the fights the way i do. I just try to view it as the judges see it. They dont get the luxary of replay, or punch stats, and they damn sure cant go back on their scoring after it was already written.

I just feel its best to keep as much outside influence away as i can. I have noticed that some posters will quote and score just as Larry Merchant or Al Lederman did. To me it does not necessarly mean that they dont know boxing, but it does show a unwillingness to form your own opinion of the way the fight went.

I do understand that sometimes things are damn near the same to everyone no matter what an announcer said. But i just choose to form my own opinion.

No. I score them with audio, comments, and everything else. I just don't pay attention to anyone else's score. I score using my own judgment.

I've learned to ignore compubox, but that doesn't matter anyway, because as soon as the round ends, I put down a score. but you need audio because sometimes the sound of the punch can be heard as it lands. I'm not talking about hitting glove either. if you hear the punch, you know it was the biggest punch of the round most of the time. you just need to ignore the crowd's reaction.

I also consider myself a really good judge

the only fight I didn't score for the winner that I scored in 2005 was Ruiz losing to Valuev, but that was in Germany. sure, it was a close fight, but I knew as soon as I saw I had Ruiz winning a close one that he had basically lost

in 2004, I had Byrd beating Golota 115-113. one of the judges had that, and the overall result was a draw so that wasn't too bad. I also had Sturm beating De La Hoya 115-113, but who didn't have that score? I had Pacquiao beating Marquez pretty handily, 4 points or so, but I need to find my card to remember that because that was a screwy fight. I also had Judah beating Spinks 114-112, but I'm a Judah fan , so I may have been biased.

in 2003, I had Tarver earning a draw against Roy. then there were the two HUGE scoring mishaps in my opinion in back to back weeks. I had Oquendo beating Byrd 116-112 and De La Hoya beating Mosley by the same score.

don't remember too many other fights I didn't score similar for the winner.

No, but I do write my score down before I see the stats or the replays, or Ledderman's card. It's mostly because it's most fresh in my memory, and the way I really felt the fight went.
