Freddie Roach Wants Manny Pacquiao To Return in September 2013

roach won’t pressure pacquiao back inside the ring following their knock out defeat to marquez. he said if and when pacquiao fights again, he will keep a much closer look at his prized fighter during training and if he doesn’t feel good about it, roach will pull the plug. roach also said an april or may 2013 return is way too soon.

roach also told reporter he watched the replay of the fight only once and the shot that pacquaio got hit with was catastrophic with high possibilty of developing a concussion. he isn't thinking of a fight until maybe september 2013.

they've talked about a marquez rematch, scheduling a rios fight and a possible renegotiations talks with mayweather, adding that there’s no need for a tuneup fight for pacquiao if he decides to face any of these three guys.

roach said he and pacquiao asked each other the question: do you still want to do it? and we both said yes.

i personally think pacquiao should fight again as soon as possible, even before the proposed april 2013 date. pacquiao knows himself better than anyone and if he says he wants to fight, then he should.

    your thoughts?

Pac should switch trainers but that's not something he'd do this late in his career. It all depends on Top Rank's agenda. If they want to make Pac look Godly again they can put him in with Rios and after bill a mega cashout fight with Floyd if he's willing.

We'll see, some fighters are never the same after an epic sonnage.

If he fights again, he will probably never be the same. That KO was one of the worst ever. Sept sounds like a reasonable amount of time to get back in there, if that's what he wants.
