The era where the best way to win is to not fight

That's what era we are in.

The era where ducking is a smart thing because if you beat enough average fighters without losing, fan boys proclaim you an atg, and if you beat enough decent opponents without losing you are in the conversation to be G. O. A. T

The era where mandatories are optional and you fight whoever you want cos you "earned" easy fights by having a semi-tough one 9 months ago.

Let's face it, this era is ass

90% of Mandatory fights are terrible anyway. Most big fights have happened apart from the biggest. I wouldn't say it's any worse than other eras, thanks to the internet we just have info we never had before and constantly talk about it on forums.

This is why I miss Oscar. He went up against the very best of the best plenty of times.

When the going got tough, did he retire? Nope...he fought them instead of retiring and let them finish each off and get praised for the leftovers.

The era where inactivity is rewarded. Sample: Fighter A fights once a year, while fighter B fights twice a year. After couple of years, fighter A demands higher pay because fighter B's stock has dropped. Arggh... what a nerve.

The era where knocking down 40 year old fighters means you could have beat them in their prime.

The era with a distinct lack of power punchers.
