These are the worst two things that could happen to a fighter imo.

Depends. Most of the time a beating is a lot worse. Sometimes a one shot KO can kill a guy. Alejandro Sanabria killed a guy with a short left hook.

Im sure there are worst things

For example a fighter could get a sustained beating for 11.5 rounds and then be KO'd by 1 devastating punch

That's kind of like what happened to Meldrick Taylor against Julio Cesar Chavez.

Exactly. Meldrick Taylor was beautiful to look at, amazing skills and fast hands. He never recovered. Saw him fighting and loosing to a bum here in Denmark, years after that....I couldn't watch.

12 round beatings are the worst.....and normally uncomfortable to watch. I blame bad reffing and a bad corner..... They are supposed to save the fighters from their own bravery.

Jeff Lacy is a prime example or a 12 round beating....twice. Margarito against pac also

Physically getting beat up over 12 rounds.

Mentally getting crushed with one shot.

If someone can withstand a 12 round beating and still not get knocked out, at least he leaves the ring with some sort of diginity and self respect. The victor will even compliment the vanquished for being a tough cookie.

You get no such praise for being put to sleep with one single punch.

I would think depending on the type of fighter a come forward power puncher who gets by off his power and he gets ktfo I would think it would turn him a little gun shy and no longer the fighter that got him were he was.
Or a pure boxer getting his ass worked for 12 rounds will make him try to reinvent himself because. His mentality will make him double think his style
