How can anyone be happy about this CBS card coming up?

It's going to make a mockery of the sport. Boxing's first reintroduction to network TV in 15 years and people will be re-introduced to it by a dark empty arena for what is only an undercard fight for Amir Khan. GBP is laughing at boxing with this card. Not even Oscar is arrogant enough to think a bunch of unknowns is enough to bring in good ratings.

I previously said Adamek vs Cunnngham is a poor choice to start things off on NBC but compared this pile of crap it looks like the Olympics now. Boxing has one chance to make an impression on CBS here. Giving them someone like Canelo against another weak opponent would not only secure ratings but more dates for boxing. It makes matters worse how they're jumping in right before Duva's card on NBC, as if they're trying to get the first word on sucking.

Also as far as I know the CBS card is planned for late Saturday night which already guarantees **** all viewers.

They're putting the young Olympians on display. They're trying to build their fanbases and develop a following to better their careers.

I think its a great idea to get these young fighters some exposure. And Leo Santa Cruz is an exciting young fighter who will very much appeal to the casual fans.

This is a small card but should be actioned packed. If you only watch the popular guys, ur a casual fan

If it fails in the ratings there'll be no big boxing shows on CBS. Why do you think they cut their live boxing from 2 shows to 1?

It is a test case, but it is them using CBS instead of Showtime extreme or whatever station they showed the undercards recently.

CBS is a better outlet to build guys names, CBS gets to use their Showtime arm that was already footing the bill to help build a boxing brand and CBS gets more sports programming. I think it is a wise move on their part to do it this way~

It isn't going to be a dark empty arena. They're going to let people in free for the fight to fill it and then Khan-Molina's card will require a ticket. There's an NCAA game before it so that should help have people tune it.

The match up is ****, but it's a start. Just because Leo Santa Cruz isn't well known doesn't mean he can't be. Alexis Arguello built a nice following on CBS back in the day and he was a smaller fighter too.
