Garcia beats Khan with or without Hunter in his corner. Ward has exceptional ring IQ and and can think on his feet and read oponents. Khan is thick with special needs dunce ring IQ. He can't think on his feet. The best he can do is follow Hunter's in between orders and that won't be good enough to keep Garcia at bay who will find a way to land something big when that happens it will be excuse time for Khan all over again.

I don't agree. Khan needs a disciplinarian in his corner. I think, after 2/3 fights, Khan, boxing to a rigid game plan, wins by wide UD or late KO.

How would you propose Garcia is going to "find a way" to land the left hook if Khan fights to a disciplined gameplan, moving around the ring using his jab and circling away from Garcias left hand? That's a pretty simple gameplan and one Khan has the toolset to execute
In order for him to land it, one of two things need to happen.
A) his opponent stays in range and allows him to land it. This is what happened in the Khan fight, and the morales fights.
Or
B) Garcia comes forward and lands it, something he hasn't shown ability to do, as he has no foot speed. And needs to be rooted to the ground in order to get off, Pavlik style.
Ashley Theophane of all people deserved a decision win over Garcia by showing him a bit of movement and working off the jab.
If Khan can get a win over maidana, who's a come forward slugger with underrated foot speed, it's not impossible a Khan with a good game plan can scrape past Garcia in a rematchLast edited by Earl-Hickey; 12-12-2012, 05:59 AM.

And if the wbc does its job and makes Garcia defend against Matthyse in the meantime this all becomes a moot point anyways as that will throw a big spanner in Garcias career direction

Yes, he should. It's not like he can't beat Garcia, he just didn't. I hope he tries to erase that demon, if Garcia doesn't lose himself.

Nah let it marinate "Bob Arum" style, The positive thing for Khan is he is still a name and because of that he brings a bigger pay for his opponents (apart from Floyd,Pac or Cotto).. So he can fight Garcia anytime he wants, so wait and see how he develops under hunter and then see what marinated the fight would be then (Arum style).

It'd be dangerous - another loss would almost certainly rule out a big domestic fight with Kell Brook at 147.
