I think what Manny will learn from this is that he doesn't have to be overly aggressive to put opponents away. That's what got him clipped and if he would have continued to just box, he could have broken down JMM and looked to take him out late.

Most won't admit it, but Manny has improved a lot skill wise, which is why I'm confused that Roach had him trying revert to his primative pre FW style in which he was reckless and always lunging in.

He should just use the Cotto/Margarito approach in which he broke his opponents down over the course of the fight instead of going for the kill.
Yes pac looked good up until the KO. What I like was that he was not loading up on shots and looking for that 1 shot KO like he's been doing the past few fights. He was picking JMM apart with lead lefts. His workrate was better too.

Roach didn't even do anything for this fight except hold the mitts. Pac basically trained himself.

This is good news though, he is still better than 80% of the boxers out there. So I don't see the need to retire just yet. If he plans to fight Marquez again I hope he gets a tune up fight first.

Editing this. I made a mistake of the amount Pac is donating to the victims of the recent typhoon in Philippines. Its about $500,000.

 Cotto came back to lift the title off the formidable Yuri Foreman. . THen defend it agiainst Mayorga, and eye-less Margarito. . . Got picked apart by Floyd, and then Trout. . .

Pac is no Cotto.. Cotto is no Pac. Pac is leagues above.

War PAC! Been a huge fan since day 1. Yes, every once in a while, I'd criticize him, mainly because of this message board, but through and through, I'll always ride with the pacman.

            Salute champ! True OG.

This kind of KO takes awhile to comeback from. Rematch with pillow puncher Bradley may be coming which i guess is ok. ESPN reported Arum advanced Pac money and I was thinking if he makes 22-28 mil a fight and fights twice a year than why does need advances. Dont care about money so much but makes me wonder if this is the reason he already announcing hell fight again especially with family asking for retirement and elections coming up.

Either way wish him the best.

You're like the dude that comes to a party by himself, and everyone at the party asks, "who the **** is this guy, and why is he here???".

                Little chode.

Will always respect and admire the Pacman in victoriy and defeat! Can't wait to watch him fight again. Hope its avenging his loss to Marquez or "loss" to Bradley.

Yep pacquiao was looking real sharp. He was fluid with his in and out movements, he was finding home for is strait left. He was looking the best he ever has against jmm. Manny just got overconfident going for the kill and ended up getting ko'd himself.

precisely... no sign of decline.. he was sparring with smaller guys while marquez was preparing for pac's power that was a factor.. in their last 3 fyts he used to eat marquez punches like donuts.. I also agree that pac should prepare for marq like he did prepare for cotto, de la hoya, marga.. Just bust their faces first and then go for the kill. However to exact avenge, i would also want to knock marquez out cold..
