In other words, who they put in front of him wasn't impressive.

Manny just lost. Its not a big deal.
Yes and Pac is one of those who hasnt been legit knocked down for a long time, and has developed himself a bit of a reputation of having a iron chin because of that fact. Fighting guys as big as Margarito and guys like DLH and Cotto and still didnt go down in 7 years.
Being the aggressor he is as well makes the fact he aint been down the more remarkable.

Pac wasnt going down to the likes of katsidis recently anyway. So the fact that Pac was knocked down by someone as good as JMM, is nothing to boast about. He dont spend 12 rounds trying to avoid being hit, Pac does try to punch if you didnt know. Rather than like Floyd who will only hit you if you miss him.

Remember when Manny refused to fight Mosley @ catch weight in '09? He then turns around to fight him the next year @ 147 after Floyd spanked him. This is what team Pacquiao has been doing for years. Imagine if Floyd did that. Floyd hasn't fought everybody but the notion that Manny is Hercules and fights everybody at their best is laughable.

Exactly my point, he has to fight a middleweight because no one at his weight class can whip him...?? Wow!
Why can’t Sergio Martinez bring his big a$$ down to 147... Oh right, he’ll be weight drained blah blah blah, well what is Floyd if he has to go all the way up to his weight. It’s just supposed to be cool because he’s Mayweather, but the Marquez/May fight gets looked down on and people say, why did he have to go up, that’s not his weight blah blah blah. Hatton was smaller blah blah...this is all bull****, he’ll never satisfy anyone. Because even if he does go up and whips Sergio’s and Canelo’s ass and whoever else. When he retires, people will say the same **** and be like oh how convenient he’s ducking Joe blow...
He’ll never please most people because they can’t be pleased. They only will be satisfied with his downfall. And that friend, is also some bull****.
You are talking out of your arse. The guy said he was coming back for his legacy first, money second. What a freaking joke that is! Four mediocre fights...wow.

He doesnt have to do anything, he can have 2 or 3 more mundane fights and make a ton of cash from it if he so desires, but this guy harps on about greatness yet his deeds dont come close to matching his words... and dont even bother spouting some butthurt piss about 'what, you think he started in 2007'. everyone acknowledges that his body of work and the fighter he was before that was impressive, he has done **** all since despite telling everyone he was going to blow us all away.

The guy is a twat, but he has the opportunity to do something that the whole world would have to respect, take your proboscus out of his anus and you may actually see this too.

          • As it stands, Mayweather's welter resume is better than Pacquiao's welter resume. So if he's done nothing since his return than Manny is less than nothing? Ok.

cmon man, iron chin. floyd moved up and fought bigger guys as well. he just hasn't gotten KTFO! When Mosley hit him like JMM hit Manny, he took it like a G. then he hit him again and he held on for dear life.

perhaps floyds style isn't so bad afterall.

Did you miss his four year, four fight comeback? You are seriously going to say it was great with a straight face?

                • Hatton, Clottey, Bradley, Marquez 4 were all good opponents.

The rest were sh-t, DLH was done and looked like he out his head inside of a beehive at the end of the Forbes fight, Cotto at a weightdraining catchweight, gets no props from me.

The Margarito fight was disgusting, it needs it own paragraph to explain how disgusted I was by this fight. First of all this guy gets caught with something in his handwraps right before the Mosley fight. Then he gets humiliated, looses every round, and gets brutalized by Mosley. Gets suspended for 1 year. Before the Clottey-Pac fight even takes place, Margarito is doing interviews that he was promised a November 2010 fight with Pacquiao, by Bob Arum. Even after this fact, Bob decides to trick the public in to thinking he's actually trying to do the Floyd fight, by putting a stupid little countdown clock around July 2010, for a November fight with Floyd[AFTER the fact that Margarito had already been promised a fight with Pacquiao in November]. Margarito comes back after 1 year and 5 months against a journeyman May 2010, looks mediocre, doesn't even crack the top 10 at JMW. Still gets a fight at a catchweight with another fighter who isn't even ranked in the top 10 at JMW, Manny Pacquiao, for the vacant 154 WBC title. An all around disgusting time for boxing, no thanks to Top Rank and WBC.

Then he fights Mosley coming off a loss to Mayweather and a draw to Mora. Shortly after the Mora fight, Bob Arum is quoted saying Mosley is old and "was huffing and puffing by the 3rd round". Couple months later, Pacquiao vs Mosley gets signed.

Marquez 3, no matter the outcome of that fight, was intended to be a whitewash, domination, stoppage victory for Pacquao against an aging, bloated up LW who was dominated 2 years prior on the same weight class. Marquez outclasses, outboxes Pacquiao clearly.

Nothing bad to see about Bradley, good opponent.

Marquez 4 was a good opponent, 50-50 fight coming, after the fact that Marquez still had it in him to beat Pacquiao. But the 3rd fight was an obvious cherrypick regardless if Marquez won.

Clottey fight was crap. Dude is so overrated because he's mastered the art of looking good while losing. Resume-wise, he's no better than beating Victor Ortiz. Maybe worse since Vic was rated higher (sadly).
