Tyson Fury vs Johnson did 1.4 million viewers on channel 5

came 6th for the week on Channel 5. Very good considering it went head to head with the champions league.

BAMMA UK was shown directly after but doesn't appear on the top 30 so it isn't listed. The show in 30th place did 800k so that means BAMMA did less than 800k.

wait wait wait... this thread didnt mention Pac or JMM, is this allowed?

Channel5 will do big things for boxing if they stay in it. Hopefully once their fighters start getting big fights they dont switch them over to Primetime.

Kudos to Hennessy for this, ill bet he took less money upfront to put his guys on terrestrial.

      Nice!

It's great coverage for the guys on 5, too.

Fury will become a household name.

Very good for channel 5, especially with the Football on too.

Channel 5 consistently does 1mill+ for it's boxing (there are a few exceptions, Chisora-Fury did 2.2mill I think though?).

Hennessy's doing well with the opportunity give to him but I'd like to see some better matchmaking for more than just one fight. He needs to step Gill and a few other prospects up now and should look into using his Canadian contacts more.

oh yeah, good numbers. even if it was on free tv it means he's getting more publicity than the sky fighters, and about 100 times more than the boxnation fighters.

Exposure is what all promoters should be looking for. You get that with Sky Sports and Terrestrial only. Once you hit Hatton/Haye levels of popularity then you can start dictating terms. Glad that Bellew and Degale realised this, hopefully Price and Chisora will follow suit.

...and 95% probably fell asleep after five rounds. Kevin Johnson has got to be one of the most boring boxers in the game right now.
