In September, this was the public opinion on here "If Floyd fights Canelo, Canelo has done nothing to earn it and it's a joke". Fast forward to December and it's supposedly a duck if he doesn't fight him.

The week after the Guerrero fight, the opinion was "If Floyd fights Guerrero, it's a joke", now all of a sudden Guerrero is a better fighter than Bradley.

Man I hope Bradley gets a Marquez or Guerrero fight next.

Mayweather isn't fighting Bradley on May 4th. Feuding promoters and Bradley not being a draw is enough to rule him out. I think it's safe to say Arum isn't in his happiest of times right now..

So basically it's between Canelo and Guerrero.

Canelo doesn't deserve it (as you put it) but he's exciting and has power and Guerrero is just a lame fight.

      Take your pick.

I'd rather see Mayweather fight Guerrero than Bradley, just because I wouldn't care if I never saw Timothy Bradley fight again.

If it were between Canelo and Guerrero, I'd pick Guerrero as far as legitimacy goes and who's earned it. He's at least beat a couple top 10 WW's going into it. Canelo needs to fight Trout. He beats Trout, than I say let him fight Mayweather in a big fight.

I agree Bradley probably won't happen, I see Arum making Pac-Rios and Bradley-Marquez next, which could backfire on him if Bradley beats Marquez, which he's more than capable of doing so.

I wouldn't say Guerrero is any more than solid win over top WW for Floyd. It's like when Manny beat Clottey in my opinion. I could accept Manny fighting Clottey, because he was a top ranked WW. But at the time, Floyd and Mosley were also available for him to fight.

Right now, there's really no one aside from Canelo or Guerrero for Floyd. Sergio is a MW, hasn't fought a 154 in 4 years and is fighting Murray at 160 next. Pac just got KO'd. He already beat Marquez handily.

It'll be interesting to see who he fights and what route he goes next.

Don't be so quick to rule out Martinez. "He's a MW"....okay who's to say he won't go down one weight class to fight Floyd? He's obviously interested in it, in fact I'm pretty sure I read something about him stating he wants Floyd after Murray. That fight would be better than anything being presented right now imo. Floyd vs Martinez >>>>>> Bradley, Guerrero, Canelo any day. But I agree Floyd won't pursue a fight with him.

I just saw that Martinez-Murray is scheduled for April so obviously May 4th is not an option but still an option for September.

even if Martinez comes down to 154:

                1) Floyd will be criticized for "draining his opponent"
                2) Martinez will still come into the ring at 170+
                3) Floyd will still be fighting a real middleweight and not a light middleweight

People should realize that it's a credit to Floyd's talent that the only fight people think he should take is a fight where he'd likely lose due to being purely outmuscled due to a huge size disadvantage

Be honest, nobody at 147 can beat Floyd Mayweather, at least not easily. And only a few guys at 154 would give him a decent fight. The fact that people want him to fight a 160lber is kind of comical at the vitriol Floyd gets from these maniacal fans

With that said, it would be a pretty good fight but Floyd would lose and it wouldn't take anything away from Floyd's career if he lost to Martinez

                  That's a bold statement.

We'll see how Martinez looks post knee surgery in the Murray fight.

how is it a bold statement? Martinez is really good (yes, assuming he's not lost a step after the knee surgery), and Floyd isn't invincible or 25 years old anymore

I don't really want to get into depth about the legitimacy of the fight but I'd gladly dish out $70 for a Martinez-Floyd fight. Something I'd definitely want to see, and it's not a for sure Martinez win either imo. Martinez and to a lesser extent - Floyd have expressed interest.

But Guerrero/Bradley is a for sure Floyd UD to most. A streamable one at that.
