I beat the #1 and #2 rated 165 pound amateurs in the world in my weight class in the months before I went pro. that solidified my 'prospect' status. and you?
Europe's Henry Maske was #1 rated 165lber in the world in 1988, I seriously doubt you could of beaten him. Darrin Allen probably just took you too lightly, and that fight was in 1987 right? Allen was at his best in 1986 not 1987, and you turned pro in 1988 not 1987.

I beat a guy called Eddie Stuart at my peak at the 1995 ABA's at 165, Stuart had stopped the #1 147lb junior in the whole of Europe at the 1994 ABA's at 165 (Ryan Rhodes - youngest British champion since the war and youngest British world title challenger since the war). So, I beat the guy who beat Ryan Rhodes in Rhodes' last-ever amateur fight. Going into the pro's, Rhodes was Britain's best prospect and Europe's best prospect.

When I beat Stuart with my bobbing, weaving and combinations, Mickey Duff offered me a pro contract.

I had a handful of fights and yes I did reach that level eventually

I was a switch-hitter and I used to spar with little John Armour who weighed about 9 stone but it really speeded me up, and I spent two or three weeks before a fight at the Empire in Bristol to get some quality sparring with the likes of Dean Francis and Glenn Catley. I live in Bristol now and train at Dean's Dad's gym in Basingstoke, I don't know if I'll fight again though.

I was like a white version of a lean Tyson but with switch-hitting thrown in as well. I really think I could of given Hopkins a good fight.
