Velez is getting rushed and I can't understand it. Salvador Sanchez ll was an easy fight for him and folded as soon as he was hurt. Ponce is not SSll and Velez is no Juanma. This is a big jump in talent considering that Baranza gave Velez fits and his only talent is a solid beard. PDL is fairly sturdy, he took everthing Johnnie Gonzalez dished out, and he hits like a mule. This type of promoting is sink or swim and the Doulorme (excuse the spelling) debacle should have left a bad taste for it. Velez needs to work his way up and not try to skip grades like grammer school.

Vélez seems like a promising fighter but he is not ready for a fight like this. In a year, this could work. Right now, this is premature and he might lose badly.

He either knocks him out in the first two rounds or gets pummeled to death, if he wins he would have impressed me.

I agree with the people saying it's too soon for a De Leon fight. PDL will be too much for him atm imo.
