To be honest both fighters looked great. I don't think Pacquiao could have been considered "done" in this fight. He looked quite sharp. He looked great. This is boxing. This fight was an embodiment of all that is great about boxing.
JMM had been setting up that punch from the start. It was the same punch that put Pac on his ass in the third, and he'd been trying it on and off up til the end. I remember in 24/7 episode 3, JMM team would not let the sparring be filmed, as they were working on a specific gameplan. I think that was it, target the body, over and over, wait until Pacquiao gets careless and lunges forwards and then crouch as if to go to the body but loop the right hand over the top. Pacquiao walked right on to it, no amount of PED's would have made that punch any more or less effective, it was just a perfectly timed, killer blow which Marquez had worked on a lot in training.
Love Pacquiao, but he has been disrespecting the game. We don't expect garbagemen or plumbers be p4p, there are limits too natural ability. He has a full-time job in the senate like a punk while Ward and Mayweather are training and keeping it real. The **** was Romney doing ringside?
That shot would have stopped Manny in any of the first three fights. Manny was careless and walked into a monster shot. Marquez landed some flush punches in all of their fights but that was by far the biggest. Maybe peds was a factor or maybe time has caught up to Manny.
Damn that was so amazing I have to post again!! haha. Yeah let the steroids talk about JMM begin...funny where was all this steroid talk when Manny was coming up in weight wrecking fools? It is so sad that Manny gets absolved of all the accusations and shady crap that probably went on in his career. Everyone else gets held to a higher standard apparently. All you Pac fans are blind, hypocrite and fanatical jerkoffs. There are NO excuses for what happened tonight, period. Manny fought well actually, in fact, I think he was legitimately going to win a decision, even in my eyes, 100%. He recovered from that knockdown and came back. But JMM was a man possessed and on a mission, only the Devil himself could have kept JMM on that canvas tonight. He was timing Manny and waiting to strike the perfect counter and when it came Manny jumped right into it, using his own force against him and it was the perfect short right counter. Same thing when Floyd dropped Hatton, using his aggressive come in against him. That is counterpunching brilliance my friends....that is hall of fame talent. Manny is more powerful and a better athlete for sure, but he is not even half the boxing mind that JMM is. I am so happy JMM got this KO and all of those past fights don't matter anymore to him I know, this is a storybook ending for JMM.
As for Manny it is time to hang them up. That was an absolute brutal KO and he may not recover from that (ironically like what he did to Hatton). To put Manny in the ring next with a beast like Rios would be a bad idea, or a sharp counterpuncher like Floyd or even Guerrero. Manny better take some time to think about his next move.
