Comments Thread For: Trout's Trainer Feels Canelo's Style Matches Up Well

Louie Burke, the trainer of WBA "regular" junior middleweight champion Austin Trout (26-0, 14KOs), is very proud of his boxer. This past Saturday night at New York's Madison Square Garden, Trout won a twelve round unanimous decision over Puerto Rican superstar Miguel Cotto.

Flattery will get you nowhere. This fight isn't happening any time soon.

Trouts style will cause trouble for canelo just like it did for cotto. Trout outboxes canelo to a decision victory.

canelo doesn't throw jabs, doesn't cut off the ring well. no head movement (lacking the basics) canelo does have big power & places his punches well. thats about it..........in a trout fight he would need MUCH better then just power or else he'll get jabbed to death......trout also has A good stamina advantage.

i don't see this so called super talent with canelo (like everyone on nsb is screaming) let him fight someone thats in shape, that can take his shots, & also dish out just as good as he can take.....& the canelo hype train crumbles..........

Canelo is better off fighting cotto next to finally test himself at 154, then fight trout. If canelo fights trout next he gets schooled.

I agree completely, this is why I think canelo should fight cotto next to prepare himself for trout.

For a guy that has spent the better part of his life as a "top level fighter" fighting smaller guys, and who's lone win against something remotely resembling a legitimate jr middleweight contender was old ass Ryan Rhodes, people sure do talk about this white guy that claims he's a mexican a lot.
