I agree that Guzman had found his groove and was starting to frustrate Allakhverdiev until the knee injury happened. And even then he showed great heart in trying to get up and keep fighting.

He absolutely deserves a rematch. Even if it's in Russia.

Guzman never found his groove, Khabib took a round off and came back. The only thing Guzman found was Khabib busting his face up and overwhelming him. Guzman's face was breaking, his hand, his leg, he is aging and there is nothing he can do about that. Khabib with his speed, accuracy, timing, and combos is going to make some noise at 140. Guzman is past it and either back to the drawing board or retirement but a rematch is not necessary....it is upward for Khabib, not backward.

No he doesn't and if they had robbed Khabib do yoou honestly think Guzman would have given him a rematch.

He is desperate for money and knows that no one wants to fight a guy that is basically a no one in this sport.

A win against Guzman proves nothing to anyone.

I'd love to see it! It was a brilliant fight while it lasted until his knee blew out. Whether he wins or not, I don't care, I just want to see another great fight. It's very clear his time is past sadly. He was getting hit with stuff that would have previously missed him by a foot all night.

I just want to see another exciting fight.

Khabib can deny the rematch because he spanked Guzmán badly, he left no doubt about who the better man was despite Guzmán getting a lot of help from the ref.He is the real deal. Mark me a fan.

Ps.- As of matter of fact, he should reject the rematch because he could get jobbed by the ref/judges.

It was a very good fight up to the injury stoppage & would make an interesting rematch, but there was no question Khabib should of been well ahead & on his way to a well-deserved victory.
Doubt a rematch would offer anything different but should still be a good fight .

If Khabib can't secure a fight in the meantime with one of the bigger names like Garcia, Peterson, Judah, etc. it's still likely to be a better fight than anyone else on offer. (he just needs to make sure he's got a better referee & judges than the last fight)

An alternative might be Mike Alvarado which would be a good choice for a next fight if he doesn't get the shot with Provodnikov - it would raise his profile further in the US & I would favour Khabib strongly in that matchup.

Matthysse is the only one I would be really wary of taking a fight with, & would want him to have a little more top level experience for that one...
