Don't forget the undercard fighters used to lure fans to the Canelo fights. People paid to watch Gonzalez v PDL, but cinnamon got the big money for a no risk joke of a fight. Canelo isn't drawing huge crowds without a lot of underpaid help. They spotlight Canelo, give him top billing, but surround him with real warriors to sell the show.

Maidana/Soto-Karass and Santa Cruz were also on the under-card too. Canelo still hasn't had a match-up worthy of being called "main event of the evening".

Ward should be careful with his words. I mean, he IS the same guy who's gonna fight a past-prime Pavlik who hasn't had much success at SMW.
