No kidding .. When my ancestors came here shops had upsigns that said "Italian Americans need not apply". They didnt whine and bit*h they buckled down and took care of business.. I guess its easier to fail and blame someone else.

uh... yeah... that's so similar to being enslaved for 400 years and legally classified as 3/5 human...

I understand the point of not visiting the sins of the fathers upon the heads of the sons, but you can't oversimplify, either.

The legitimate answer is that it is a marketing tool that plays on the worst characteristics of both white and black Americans. They know that if they label it racially, it will draw more attention and put more asses in seats. If you dont believe me, ask Gerry Clooney. (Who, by the way, is the last fighter I remember being labeled as a Great White Hope in the mass media)

I wasnt injecting race into this argument just stating fact. I could give a **** less what a persons color is. All I know is immigrants who came to this country in the past IN GENERAL had alot more respect for this country itself. Please save all the dramatic bs about 3/5 for someone else. Immigrants of yesteryear would attempt to assimilate to the culture and forbade their children to speak the native tongue on the streets, only for the home. Thats called respect. Also many European immigrants gave up high paying jobs and property to come here and start with nothing and theywere still grateful. Slavery happened long before you and I were here. If thats you in your avatar with your blue eyes chances are you may have some ancestors here who enslaved people. My people didnt even get to this country until the early 1900's!!

If you watch boxing from the standpoint of a non-racist its clear that there is a bias towards blacks in boxing. Everybody remembers Floyd Patterson but Ingmarr Johansson (as an example) who was World Heavyweight Champion and defeated Floyd Patterson is hardly remembered by anybody.

Another point is every single white fighter who is a legitimate contender and happens to be white is always adressed as "white hype or hope." A title which downgrades there actual ability and accomplishments.

I'll make it short buddy. Your title says it all, "black boxing".
This sports is being dominated by our black brothers by I'll say 7 is to 3 ratio reason why when ever there's a white fighter that comes up to the challenge they are being regarded as something especial. White hope? White hype? But it doesn't necessarilly mean they being discriminated.

it's just how good they was.. there wasnt too much good white fighter in HW, Rocky marciano was GREAT and many black ppl refer as him as one of the greatest...
Micky ward is also a very good white fighter but for all the "Greatest" most of the time they are black or mexican... give me 3 actual "TOP" fighter in the most popular divisions...

You are right and as a whiteman I support your post. If you want acolades and respect they must be earned no matter what skin color. Blacks are simply better fighters than whites IN GENERAL!!
