Laguna Niguel, Calif. – Two significant pairs of Muhammad Ali fight-worn gloves - Ali’s (then Cassius Clay) gloves from his February 25, 1964 bout against Sonny Liston and his gloves from his March 8, 1971 bout against Joe Frazier (Ali-Frazier I) – each sold for $385,848 in a SCP Auctions’ November auction which concluded early Saturday. The sale of these two items sets a world-record price for any piece of boxing memorabilia at public auction.

i am curious to know how Angelo Dundee had Ali's gloves from March 8th 1971 fight with Joe Frazier. as the promoter of that fight Jack Kent Cook had it signed into the fighters fight contracts that both pairs of gloves, mouth-pieces and shorts had to be handed over to him immediately after the fight.
