Former WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (30-2-1, 19 KOs) has a new foe for his upcoming bout on Saturday night in Dusseldorf and is very lucky, that his fight hasn’t been scratched off for good from the card.
Yakup Saglam (28-1, 25 KOs) was announced as Chagaev’s next opponent. The 35-year old Saglam hasn’t fought in over eighteen months and isn’t fully ready for the fight but willing to move on.
Chagaev, 34, was first scheduled to face undefeated Cuban prodigy Mike Perez, but the latter suffered a shoulder injury and was forced to withdraw.
