  • Comments Thread For: Brian Viloria Eyes Unification, Not Melindo Defense

WBO/WBA flyweight champion Brian Viloria would rather seek a unification title fight against WBC champion Toshiyuki Igarashi of Japan or IBF champion Moruti Mthalane of South Africa rather than face No.1 contender and countryman Milan Melindo in a mandatory title fight ordered by the World Boxing Organization at its recent convention in Miami, Florida.

Viloria is a beast, no one at Flyweight beats him ATM IMO.

Hope he gets to fight Chocolatito Gonzalez soon tho, that be a ****ing WAR for sure.

As a Donaire fan and Pinoy, i don't want to see the fight cuz not of the countryman thing. Viloria has nothing to gain from Melindo in terms of career and current status.

I liked him to move up to 115 and fight any of the top 3.

BTW, looking at the Ring P4P, Viloria deserves to be up there.

Agreed. Viloria definetly belongs in the top 10.

I've been saying it for years now, this dude is one of boxing's most under-appreciated dudes out there. He has a better resume than some guys even in the P4P rankings and he doesn't even get half the credit they do. Shame! Viloria has beaten like 3 or 4 guys that were in the P4P rankings at the time.

Surrrrrrre, riiiight. If he's such a beast, then he'd fight whoever, whenever.

this is what i've been saying. not having viloria in the top ten p4p is criminal at this point. he has proven himself to be one of the best little fighters in boxing today imo.
