Why is Kessler wasting his time on Magee?

Some guy Froch beat years ago and who Bute recently battered, he would have been better served fighting Bute even after Froch easily stopped him so why Magee as an opponent?

For a belt? who cares he is already one of the more notable 168lbers in the world and a good local draw with or without a paper title.
