    Danny Garcia... ELITE?

Do u guys really see potential in Garcia? Do u really think he has what it takes to be a true top fighter or is he just in a weak division...

I'm not entirely sold yet, but that's what I said about Bradley until the Peterson fight...

Beating Judah would be a good gauge, but that isn't always telling

Anyway, to sum it up, can he beat the top guys in and around his division?
Matthysse, (A better prepared) Khan in a rematch, Marquez, Rios, etc @ 140
Guerrero, Brook, Paulie, Bradley, Ortiz, Alexander, etc @ 147 (No Floyd or Manny)

And even an Adrien Broner once he moves up

When he fights Mattyhsse we will see if he's elite or not (and vice versa for matthysse). The judah fight does nothing for me. Rios fight will never happen unfortunately.

There are very few fighters that I call "elite", and Garcia is far from it. However, he's one of my favorites and has been improving in his performances. I think he can lose to all the top guys @140, but he can also beat them as well. I think he'd beat Paulie (most top fighters could lol), but I'm not sure with the others. I would love to see Garcia/Ortiz, that's a very interesting styles clash.

Broner/Garcia won't happen because both guys are promoted by Haymon.

I think Swift will be the type of fighter that every one will pretty much say he's going lose this fight, he's going to lose that fight, he can't win, then on fight night he not only wins but wins in a way that surprises fans. Sort of like Hopkins but more exciting and of course without the defense and boxing fundamentals. Just the part that Hopkins was basically supposed to lose all of his big fights from Trinidad-present. He was underdog in all of them basically.

Personally, no I don't think he will be considered a truly elite fighter. He's good but he caught Khan with a perfect shot after he was getting out classed and beat a shot Morales twice. That's not to take the Khan win away from him as it was a great left hook but take the left hook out of the equation and does he look that special?

He's got potential but at the moment I'm not overly impressed to look at him as a future star.

I would like to see him improve on his straight punches jab and straight right, they don't need to be great weapons because his hook is his money punch, but without a jab and a straight right he lacks the proper tools to set up that hook against top opposition. That would make him a very formidable fairly complete offensive fighter.

I am torn on the Judah fight because Judah for all his issues is not a totally inept boxer I think he gets how to take away a left hook which is real basic. Still Garcia is consistent Judah isn't and is prone to slipping up so it is hard to count on Judah doing the proper things for a full 12 rounds with a guy coming after him the whole time.

I would still favor Garcia but I don't think beating Judah is a true gauge of how he will do against a truly top shelf guy.

The kid is good, but He's just getting started. He looks like Elite material.

I see him as elite for his weight class. It's too soon to talk about being P4P.

I like Garcia don't get me wrong, but his biggest wins are against a very worn Erik Morales and Amir Khan.

I think Danny has what it takes to maybe one day be an elite fighter. but only time will tell.
