Excellent win only adding to his resume and championship credentials, setting up the Unification fights with Canelo/Floyd next year.

It's Trout's coming out party. Cotto isn't going to win.

Trout is not an easy fight.

Lefty, good reach with his jab and a long distance upper. Decent speed and foot work. May or may not have the hardests of puches but can hold his own.

Great match up in my book. I got Miguel winning by KO/TKO <10rds. Or a 10-2 UD win for Cotto.

Should set up Cotto / Canelo for May and the winner facing FMJr. for Floyds retirement fight on Dec 2013!

          I called it first! lol!

          War Cotto!

PS. I got a few eBillions ready to be put on the line on this fight! PM me!

Please go ahead and delete your account. I also like how you conveniently left the 2nd round out of the conversation. When little Lopez had Canelo on the ropes and was hammering him. Btw Canelo didn't like it one bit either.

Unification? Could you guys quit making it into something it's not? Trout is not THE CHAMPION. He has an interim belt. Cotto will not be a champion if he beats Trout. All this fight really means is that he can beat lower tier top 10 154 pounders at this stage.

A win over a solid belt holder & might temp CANELO into a unification bout.

I'd say its a solid win over a title holder, about on par with Clottey, although I think the Clottey win was a bigger win. He's younger, bigger, stronger and undefeated, so I think when history comes knocking, it'll look favorable. Assuming he rebounds and does some good things for his career, like Malignaggi.

All in all, its a fight that'll position him for Pac 2, May 2, or Ginger in 2013

He is a champion. Is the same belt Cotto held after Foreman, Trinidad after Reid, Winky and the list goes on and on. just because their is a super champion doesnt make this belt an "interim belt".
