    What's next for Andre Berto?

From Berto's perspective this was a devastating loss and It seems like he's going to take a long break, but once he gets back who should he fight?

Can he rebuild his career in 2013 improve and become a player in the WW divison?

    From his twitter?

    Fight of the year........number two.

Seriously, they're both basically coming off back to back losses. Would love for Ortiz to beat him again.

Honestly, I think his heart isn't in boxing anymore. He look a bit dejected to me before the fight. No fire in his eyes like how he used to be. He can say the PEDs accusation is the reason his heads not in the game all he wants but I think that would be bogus. How did he allow himself to balloon up to 200lbs during the layoff? Kinda seems like he isn't as dedicated as he once was. I felt he was going down the wrong path right before the Ortiz fight when he did the video trying to be Floyd with all the flossing, taking pictures, going to the mall, etc. Like he honestly was believing his own hype. Soon as his competition stepped up, he got whooped!

Going forward, I think he needs to rededicate himself. Get a new trainer that's gonna bust his a$$ and teach him how to actual box (Garcia or maybe Floyd Sr.), get rid of all them idiots who be yelling in his corner during rounds (his brother?), and lay off the junk food (see how flabby he was around the midsection?). He has the athleticism and it has carried him this far, but to continue to face top opposition, he'll need more than what he has at his disposal right now.

Berto fought his heart out, he's a warrior. He was down two 10-8 rounds, eyes closed, couldn't do much in side because of the ref, was getting his head held and getting hit. He managed to win 4 rounds like that, and make the other rounds that he lost close.

He needs to recover from his injuries, then come back and fight Ortiz and Guerrero rematch. Guerrero will be looking for a bounce back fight after losing to Mayweather, and Berto could take on him.

Thurman's not even that good, but at this point I feel he knocks Berto smooth out. Berto is a bit chinny and Thurman can hit.

Berto should just retire after he loses to Ortiz again tbh. There's no way he's ever beating Guerrero anywhere in the future.

Doesn't look good when a Featherweight pushes you around like that.

I guess he should target Ortiz since they could be coming back at the same time. Ortiz might have to test run his jaw in training to see if he's able to go again but that seems like good crossroads type of fight.

Unless he absolutely has to, I'd say no more southpaws! He's taken on his fair share already, I'm not sure how/why he ended up having to deal with so many of them

I thought he showed about as much heart and fire as any fighter with two eyes closed could show. The dramatic part of the fight, after Guerrero showing he wanted it more and scoring those two KD's, was actually Berto getting himself back in to the fight despite being injured and hurt, and even closing one of Guerrero's eyes.

Yeah I do have to give him props for a good fight with Guerrero though. When he got knocked down those two times that woke him up. Finally got his head in the game. If he had more tools, he could have won. But Robert was just too good that night. I'd like to see a rematch if Berto gets a better trainer.
