  • Adrian Broner is good for Boxing

Adrian Broner is good for Boxing because he makes us all wanna watch him get knocked out. It piques interest. If you're a Broner fan you shouldn't be upset at this statement because essentially, he is doing a good job by making most of us want to see him get pummeled in the ring. That means he has achieved his mission in everyone disliking him, does it not.

Certainly his act isn't inviting the viewer to say, "Hmm that seems like a nice young man, I think I'm gonna root for him from now on". No, quite the opposite

Broner is good for Boxing because I and others will watch to see if this is finally the time that he gets defeated and humbled. Job well done Broner.

I think he's far more likeable then Mayweather. Mayweather just comes off as an annoying snob.

Of course there will be a decent amount want to see him get stopped, but that's the same with any top guy.

I love black people but he's a bad ambassador for them.

He's certainly playing his role as a "Bad guy" well.

Whether he is more likable then Floyd is subjective of course. I'm not gonna disagree.

But I disagree with you last sentence. There is a degree of difference in the dislike of fighters who don't try to be disliked (I.E. Wlad Klitschko or Andre Ward) and someone who is either naturally brash or trying to be. It doesn't really matter where that cockyness comes from, because the end result is the same. The average viewer just wanst to see him get pummeled and get him off that high horse of being undefeatable.

Well it's certainly withing the realms of possibility. I tend to disagree and think that he is just naturally that way and only ups it up a bit for the cameras, which isn't too hard if you're that way anyway. You know, the kind of guy that walks around thinking he is better then everyone that you wanna curb stomp.

But it's irrelevant. Whether he is playing or not, he is doing a good job in achieving the means to an end, which is attracting a huge audience of people like myself (the majority) who want to see him get brutally defeated and silenced. Because his fanbase (the minority) certainly isn't gonna make him do numbers should he ever transition over to PPV.

Why does it have to be a hate/love dynamic? He's an athlete, not a TV show character. How about ignoring the trash he talks and just judging him based on what he does inside the ropes? Personally I'm not a big fan but I think he's a good fighter. I don't root for him and I don't root against him, I just watch him fight to see if he's gonna show me something interesting. Why would you let a man that you never met control your emotions like that?
