IF he isn't ready now he will never be ready, 1 or 2 more wins would probably only serve to damage him more especially if he fights like he did against Berto. Guerrero has been a world class guy for a long time now, so seeing him against one of the best to me is just fine.

I don't think he beats Floyd mostly because whenever Berto threw he landed so Floyd would almost certainly land more (probably would throw more also which is an odd thing to say about Floyd) and Floyd would do a better job of not getting beat up. Still if Floyd has faded a bit more with his time away, a hungry aggressive guy like Guerrero could make him age more if that happens Guerrero could make it awful interesting. If Floyd is Floyd Guerrero will likely get beat up, so I think it is a fairly good measuring stick to see what Floyd has left.

Berto was not. Then Berto, the inactive fighter, only had about a month to prepare... It's not as stellar of a win as you think.
Berto is coming off beating up Zaveck who was a top 5-7 guy, he is 18 months removed from that loss.

He is better than all those guys, point blank period Alexander who wilted against Bradley in a less tough situation than Berto faced~, Brook who has done what exactly beat Carson Jones? and Malinaggi I would consider him pretty fortunate that he even still has a belt.

Those guys are all not that different and Berto has done more in the class than any of them. 147 is a terrible weight class it is why guys who have done nothing are at the top of the pile it doesn't take much to move ahead of that lot.

Its getting to the point of forcing a mandatory , this is an ATG elite fighter against A- its not competitive , Floyd only has 1 maybe 2 fights left and should not be wasted on dominating Guerrero .

For a fighter that was inactive for 14 months, it is not that far removed. You can't possibly argue that being inactive for so long was an advantage for Berto. It was a disadvantage, then add to the fact he only had a month to prepare. All of these things were disadvantages for Berto, and advantages for Guerrero. Beating Berto was just not that stellar of a win when all things are considered.

I won't argue that 147 is a strong division though.

I didn't say it was an advantage, Berto looked about like he always does so I don't think it effected him all that much either. If you want to say it is a disadvantage fine but we can argue all day about how much, unless you got a door in your apartment that leads into Andre Berto's head we don't know how much.

I also didn't call it a stellar win, I just said he is better than those 3 guys whom none of which I rate very highly. Beating another dude whom I don't rate highly wouldn't make Guerrero any more worthy or change anything, he is not some rookie he is a seasoned pro so now is his time, all that is left to see is what he can do against the very top end.

Still why I think Guerrero deserves a shot has little to do with Berto other than that was his last fight it happened to be a fairly big fight that was exciting and he won in a way most would not really expect showing some interesting facets to his game. It is what it is.

I think with one more tough fight at 147 Guerrero would earn the right to fight Floyd. I think Alexander or Bradley even Khan if he moves up. Right now PAC and Martinez should be the ones Floyd is eyeing for a may fight.

Pfft when u started watching boxing ? No way at all , power is even .. Mayweather obviously is not a great puncher , and Guerrero is obviously stronger than what people thought .. Mayweather would have a very difficult time with him , stop falling in love wit that clown just because just because he is Floyd , ghost absolutely proved that he is no joke at all ..
I agree...all these clowns in here are giving Guerrero no credit. They always try to discredit his accomplishments. Mayweather is old and Guerrero will beat him and Pacquiao. Once the Ghost gets his shot at one of these dudes, their done.

mayweather is no match for guerrero I guess floyd fans are in complete denial, mayweather looked like shiaat in his last few fights especially going life and death with cotto, gerrerro would be far far too much for that clown, too big,too young too crafty too relentless , I fully expect mayweather to duck the ghost,I mean he wont even fight a smaller threat in Manny ,Mayweather would get stopped against this guy no doubt about it,on top of all the skillset the ghost has hes a southpaw, thats a pretty unwinnable fight at this point for floyd, floyd is just too fawking slow throws like3 punches a round,no legs and feather fisted,no speed anymore. Mayweather will duck as he always does.
