Wow!Can you list another fighter with a more impressive/tougher 2 year stretch ??

From Nov of 79 to September of 81

    Sugar Ray Leonard fought

    38-0 Wilfred Benitez (0 Taken) W
    33-2 Dave Boy Green W
    71-1 Roberto Duran L
    72-1 Roberto Duran W
    36-0 Ayub Kalule (0 Taken) W
    29-3 Larry Bonds W
    32-0 Tommy Hearns (0 Taken) W

Fought 4 times against ATG'S,fought another elite in Ayub Kalule and two solid fighters in Bonds and Green. All in a 2 year stretch. Knocked them all out(forcing Duran to quit) with the exception of a decision lost to Duran.

Combined record of opponents during these 2 years :
240-6(with Larry Bonds taking up HALF those losses)

Gonna add a poll as well, where do you rank SRL among the ALL TIME Welterweights?

Basically taking his achievements from the beginning of his WW days to his last fight as WW.
His WW record: 32-1. Only lost to Duran. Via a close decision.

Damn. That is a tough 2 year run.

SRL is my #3 ww of all time behind Robinson and Armstrong.

In terms of overall resume, very very few people had it tougher than Oscar. One of the TOUGHEST resumes to go through. Floyd and Pac would have dropped multiple losses.

Even SRL/Hearns might have dropped at least one (Possibly to Hopkins)

But during a 2 year stretch,it's very hard to make a case that Oscar's run was tougher or more impressive than Ray's.

This is the run you are talking about :

              Julio Cesar Chavez 100-2 W
              Ike Quartey 34-0-1 W
              Oba Carr 48-2 W
              Felix Trinidad 35-0 L
              Shane Mosley 34-0 L

Pretty ****ing grueling: But a lot of those fights were close fights and 'technically' Oscar lost 2 of them. Chavez was past his best as well. Tough run but not as impressive.
