    Have fighters ever been drugged/poisoned?

Is there at least one PROVEN case?

It is a fact that recently Toney had to overcome donut poisoning in his title bout with Ruiz. That is proven.

    What about other cases?

I'll add a couple of cases, though not 100% proven, the situation(s) do sorta support the claims...

Back in the mid 1950's, Harold Johnson was fighting Julio Mederos and was said to have been very, very lethargic for the first round or two. And it was either the second or third round, when Johnson hit the canvas for no apparent reason, as he hadn't been hit or anything. There were some cries of Johnson taking a dive in the fight, but he claimed he was given & subsequently ate an orange that had some kind of drugs put into it, which caused him to compltely lose control over his body.

Another fight that has that su****ious nature to it and resulted in claims of a fighter being drugged/poisoned, was a fight back in 1912, which pitted Billy Papke against George Bernard. The fight is pretty infamous for the incident that happened in between the sixth and seventh rounds, when Bernard fell completely asleep when sitting in his corner. He was out like a light, and even though his cornermen gave every effort to wake him up, Bernard would just not budge. Papke was awarded the win when the still sleeping Bernard had failed to answer the bell for the seventh round. Bernard later claimed he was drugged, which...How the hell does a fighter fall asleep between rounds otherwise?

      In contrast.

There was much talk that Pryor was drinking something other than water in between rounds when he fought Arguello. I don't know if this was proven or not, but you can hear Pryor's cornerman asking for that special bottle.

Pryor is one of my favorite fighters, but that was rather su****ious. I wonder if it really was peppermint schnapps as they claimed later, or something else to give "The Hawk" an extra boost of energy.

You're right. I'm clearly delusional and the comment I quoted wasn't about the wlad fight...

And for the record, I have no feeligns towards or against Wlad. Just morons who wont get off his nuts, just as with most fighters.
