Why do boxers Square up so much these days?

    I guess that makes sense, but the pay off is too low considering the risk of opening your self up to a counter punch. Although a guy like broner has shown that you can throw a pretty powerful lead hook from a more open stance...

    I suppose you can get away with it in the amaturs due to head gear and bigger glove size and since a jab and power hands have the same point then I can see why.

    That being said, its so much easier to nail someone who squars up with a body punch!

            It also has terrible disadvantages such as getting knocked out by a counter punch or as getting hit a lot more often because you're a bigger target for the opponent.

              I notice too in gyms a
              Lot of young fighters don't seem too interested in defence
              Think too many of them think they are going to be the next Tyson
