IBF 140 pound champion Kostya Tszyu has reportedly signed a contract to defend his title against Ricky Hatton at Manchester, England's MEN Stadium on June 4. Tszyu's purse is said to be US$4.2 million. Tszyu's promoter Vlad Warton will meet with Hatton's promoter Frank Warren this week to finalize the the fight. Tszyu had been considering an offer from American promoter Murad Muhammad which was a four fight deal for a purse of US$14 million. Oscar De La Hoya has stated he is interested in a Kostya Tszyu bout at 147 pounds. After a long layoff, Tszyu looked sensational in scoring a third round knockout over Sharmba Mithchell in Phoenix, Arizona on November 6 last year.
