he three a jab straight downstairs that landed
then banks read his next combo, a jab straight upstairs
banks dodged it, mitchell reached bc of aggression
banks countered w his r uppercut, which from a heavyweight is a wicked hard punch when landed

hiscardios fine he played college football, mitchell needs to work om
        not over committing his punches/combos
dont telegraph his combos cause hw are slower but banks is smart in there
        not underestimate smaller guys
clinch the opponents hands not waist
use body more for leverage nd fight inside, stop fighting outside nd reaching
come back from this L smarter

It's a fairly short fight so if you could please watch it and share your opinions.

          There were several issues.

          1) Reached in and left himself wide open
          2) Too aggressive without thinking defensive positioning (where have we seen that before)
          3) Once in trouble, he didn't hold Banks(properly) nor did he protect himself well.

Actually at 3:50 min mark, Mitchell's trainer said "don't fall in" (ie. don't reach in). Trainer's reason why not to do it was incorrect but Mitchell's trainer knew that Mitchell does "fall in" and consequently leaving himself wide open for the punch.

Having a crap chin had a lot to do with it aside from getting too exited, reaching, etc.

You mess up and leave yourself wide open in any division you are likely to get hurt, as you go up the weight classes it becomes more and more likely and at heavy much more often than not when a guy gets hits clean when open like that they will end up in trouble.

With Mitchell this isn't new really he always left himself open and was focused on getting his rather than worrying about what could happen to him, with that approach a guy needs to have a monster chin (or a killer offense and that is still playing with fire) to really have any success. Mitchell doesn't have that.

Mitchell did reach but we have to give Banks credit. To me it looks like he laid a trap and it paid immediate dividends. He scouted Mitchell and knew exactly how to get him outta there.
