Pac.tards don't really care about actual boxing discussion. Nor do they know anything about boxing for the most part, other than that Manny participates in the sport.

He was a better amatuer than a pro! When he stepped up he got beat and he only stepped up against Leonard, Starling (twice) his opponents (95%) have loosing records. He was a good worker in the ring but he had no power he was a safe match for marginal guys but he did out hustle most of them.
I knew him since he was a very young amatuer and a few of my kids fought him atleast twice that I could remember in Regional Tournys. He didn't have the pop that Roger had and his son is a much more fluid boxer but Floyd Sr. had no problem mixing it up with anyone and I doubt he was stopped often.
I don't think he had alot of pro fights and I think he had an injury that side lined him too. Ray.

That's the thing that stood out to me and his inside work was pretty good, I noticed that too.

Ray not only finished him but knocked him down twice in the process.

Someone has no idea what they're talking about. Mate, go to a gym with a good coach and learn something. Thinking you know about proper punching technique from watching Pacquiao is different to actually knowing proper technique. Sr has excellent all around boxing technique. Don't get in deeper by disagreeing. Just go learn how to throw correct punches from someone that actually knows.

He was better defensively and more athletically gifted than Roger, Roger however had an insanely good right hand and a lot more power. I don't know why I gave that HolyCross poster the benefit of the doubt, should have known he was hating.

just bcuz he doesnt always sit down on his punches doesnt mean he cant sit down on his punches when he wants to. good fighters dont throw with full force everytime they punch. leonard and ali were known for throwing shoe shine combinations too, did they have god awful technique as well?

his punches are very good, always nice and short and he pivots just enough to get a little bit of snap even on his shoeshine combos. when he does sit down on his punches he turns into them well. no apparent flaw in his technique other than the aforementioned chicken wing, tendency to slightly backhand the jab and sometimes slap a little with his right when he loops it over the top.

all in all his technique is still solid though, calling it god awful is ridiculous.
Yeah leonard did that a lot. Roy Jones never did which was really impressive because he always threw fully committed shots at full speed, so that he didnt take any power off and still had the level of speed he did is really something

He got a beating in the end but going ten with ray still shows he was a pretty good level of fighter and no journey man. Roger wouldnt have lasted as long because of his chin.
