Making a distinction like that for someone who's sun rises and sets on Pacquiao is pointless.
Skill is skill, but worship trumps all of that as it pertains to perception, Speedkillz.
Let's face it .. If the poll asked who was more skilled Pacquiao or ANY BOXER OF ANY ERA, we know how this guy would be voting.
That alone tells you that you're wasting your time.
I remember when this guy and his brother-cousins argued that Manny was a more accurate puncher than Mayweather.
You see, you can't beat ******. And when it turns into crazy you're better off just having fun with it.
I'd bet you a million points that he didn't even know who Duran was 10 years ago if we could prove it.
Not for Manny, and not by a long way.
This didnt happen, and who are my brother cousins and what are you getting at with that?
This is true and the kind of thing that makes a person think that a bronze medal means you can call yourself olympic champion.
I would bet way more than that that you only heard of him in the last couple of years.Comment

I have watched both fighters...I know you like Floyds outfits and whatnot, but that doesnt equate to skill.Comment

Duran's reign as LW have to be factored in more when judging his skills than when he moved up. Same with Floyd. Duran losing to Hagler would be similiar to Floyd losing to an ATG MW.(Maybe Prime Hopkins) Duran getting koed by Hearns is nothing to be ashamed of, since Floyd would most likely have lost every round or be stopped. Any Floyd fans or fans in general that want to argue for Floyd over Hearns in a h2h is border line insanity.
The main issue is most people judge Duran based on his fights above WW. By than his foot speed have diminished, which means that faster boxers/movers will tag him more and his handspeed have dropped off as well.
As for the people on numerous sites citing his 'no mas' against Leonard. That have nothing to do with skills, not one bit. Vitali quit against a former Olympian MW. Chris Arreloa never quit against a much smaller fighter. Is Arreloa more skilled than Vitali? Citing the Leonard II fight as any sort of claim that 'a skilled fighter will never quit' is pretty ignorant and narrow minded in itself.
I realize it's harder to accurately guage Duran on sites because he is not quite as big of a name as Leonard/Hagler/Hearns and he is from the past era of the 80's The 90's era is probably as far back as most boxing fans today can realistically go.Comment
