Cotto-Trout Will Be On PPV In Puerto Rico

He probably doesn't have alot or any say in this. I'm sure Showtime has to make some bread for paying Cotto his guarantee and their fees and generating some profit for themselves

This is why I hate the business side of this sport. The more money they make, the more they want. They can care less about the fan base, instead, they take advantage of it. Maybe there should be a refund clause getting our money back if Cotto chooses to back pedal like he did with Pacquiao or take a knee again. Yes I said it. Been a Cotto fan from his amateur days so can care less if anybody agrees or disagrees and think he should've never agreed to this.

PR PPV only....

To clear a few things:

*First, 60% of the voters DID voted for statehood on this last election!

*Second, Showtime and HBO have done this before except whoever had the channel it was free. The ones who did not have either channel had to buy the PPV OR go to a bar and see it free.

*Third, this may be totally a Showtime thing, Cotto obviously has no say on what Showtime wants to do since I am sure he has some sort of a contract with Showtime in which he gets revenue for his Showtime fights.

*Fourth, Showtime has to make some of that money back is what I think it is.

*Fifth, Direct Tv has put most good local Puerto Rico fights (held in PR) on Direct TV PPV PR ONLY!! and no one seemed to care about that?????? In that case you would have to go to the fight and watch it live or pay for PPV!!

I agree that people over don't seem to care. I here about how bad the economy is, but what they seem to need are more parking spots at the shopping malls which are always packed. But the same can be said for people stateside. Consumerism is bad in most places in the United States. Consumerism is such a huge part of "American" culture. It is the freedom to consume that drives us, regardless if is in our best interest. Just like the chubby PR kids at the Dorado krispy kreme consume donuts.

Many states have different tax systems. Take sales tax for example: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon don't have it or have real low rates. Hawaii is at 4%. Take income tax. Don't these states not have income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wyoming. People in these states have a higher median income than PR. Should these states pay for ppv as well? All that said, all states will find a way to make revenue just like PR despite what taxing, welfare, or incentive programs they have.

What I meant was that economics dont factor in some activities here in the island. People are broke and they celebrate ****** Quinceañeros. They celebrate the first birthday of every baby like the baby is going to remember it. The underground economy is not reflected in those tables so a lot of people are living well above that line. A lot of people work getting pay under the table. So people will find the money to drink, gamble and pay for fights.

I'm upset because I dont think is fair for his fans. I buy every boxing PPV. And probably I will buy this one. But it is not right what he is doing. Tremendo CABRON.

Ok, stop that sht about 60% of voters chose state. Learn statistics and learn how to count. Total of aprox 1.7 million voters, 800k is not 60%.

Cotto and his Promotional Company have everything to do with it. Showtime knows how many buys from Cotto/Mayorga and they know it is more profitable if they do it only in PR. They explained all this to MC and GBP and they want to milk the cow. Lets not act like other stans apologist and be real about this. Miguel wants a few more million before he retires.

I would like to think that but I don't think so. I suppose that Showtime, probably, explained to his team how they would get the money to pay him. I could be wrong, but it seems like it's not Showtime's move alone.

Why do people aft like Showtime is free tv? You have to pay a ****ing monthly fee. If Cotto wants to put his fight on PPV so everyone has a chance to watch jt abd earn some more money so be it. He has busted his butt as a pro to give the fans great fights and I will buy the PPV.

Showtime isn't even expensive Mr. I Love Cotto's money. What Cotto is going to charge you guys, I can get Showtime for several months without paying EXTRA. .
