Ed “The Lion” Paredes has a new opponent for the November 30 show in Sunrise, Florida. The welterweight contender will now face battle-tested veteran Hector Munoz of Mexico, in a supporting bout to the 140 lb. title fight between Joan Guzman and Khabib Allakhverdiev.
Paredes (31-3-1, 21KO) was originally scheduled to face Javier Castro, a career 140 lb. fighter coming off of consecutive losses, including last month’s upset to a sub .500 clubfighter in Mexico.
Munoz (20-8-1, 13KO) has spent the majority of his career at and above the welterweight limit and is generally known to give rising contenders a tough night’s work. The 34-year old is coming off of an eight-round points loss to unbeaten welterweight Brad Solomon this past July.
