A guy with a soft chin and throws punches like he is in a tank with Molasses does not make him a top fighter. Great joy seeing the chinless fraud properly disposed of.

i agree with that and your first assessment he can't go anywhere without a huge chin. He makes tommy morrison look like Ali skill wise to respond to joe dong.To me he still had a lot to learn, that Witherspoon fight sure he survived and responded well but he needed to figure out a way to not allow that to happen again. Loses go one of two ways either a guy learns something and improves or they fall off, it could go either way.
I would just say the fact that Mitchell has got hurt so bad in that last two fights is not a good sign for him long term considering he will never be a master technical boxer.Comment

I definitely wasn't expecting this to happen lol. Neither one is very good but props to Banks for stopping Mitchell. I pray Banks does not attempt to fight Wlad, that won't be pretty.Comment

This fight was between a professional and an amateur. Those who had Mitchell as anything should pick a new sport to follow.Comment

All the hype about Mitchell looks so silly now ... it's not even as if Banks is any good.Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City - Johnathon Banks (28-1-1, 18KOs) destroyed Seth Mitchell (25-0-1, 19KOs) in two rounds of a WBC semi-final heavyweight eliminator. After Mitchell dominated the first round, Banks caught him cold with a combination of punches and dropped Mitchell hard. After another series of shots, he dropped Mitchell once again. Mitchell tried to hold on, but Banks continued to punch and dropped him for a third time - and referee Eddie Cotton waved it off.

Many of the top boxing writers were hyping Mitchell. If they all picked a new sport to follow there'd be almost no boxing coverage left.
The problem is that most of the top boxing writers are American, and they're so desperate for there to be a good American Heavyweight again that they'll hype any unbeaten American who can punch. Their critical faculties go out the window.Comment

You're right Johnathan Banks wouldn't stand a chance against either Wlad or Vitali. They are just too big. To be honest though, the heavyweight division ain't jack. There's hasn't been any real good fighters/ boxers in the heavyweight divisions in years. Wlad ain't ****, his brother Vitali ain't **** even Lennox Lewis wasn't **** really. Not compared to the heavyweights of the past. They all look awkward, and there's just no competition these days that's all. Wlad seems somewhat skillful, considering today's comp and Banks seems somewhat skillful and a lot more seasoned now than when he fought Adamek but still.
If they had been around back in the 80's or 90's................... nobody would ever have heard of them. .......................Real TALK.........Comment
