Comments Thread For: Roach Reveals an Interesting Story Involving Nacho

Freddie Roach admitted at the beginning of the episode that’ll debut tonight after HBO’s doubleheader that they needed a “new twist” to make “24/7 Pacquiao/Maquez 4” interesting.

Whether they succeeded will be determined by ratings, but Roach recalled quite a story that occurred the night of the third fight between rivals Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) and Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KOs) a year ago in Las Vegas. Pre-fight footage from that night showed Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain, Marquez’s trainer, and Roach have an unusual exchange in Pacquiao’s dressing room.

You guys did win all 3 fights, Nacho. But very classy of you to still give the Roach some credit.

So what if Nacho wanted Pacquiao to sign some boxing items. Manny is a popular guy. Could be for his family members. Nothing juicy information wise.

I remember that episode, a poster above has it correct several friends of nacho asked nacho to get those items signed for them and Nacho did.

Manny didn't think nothing of it, he just signed them like no big deal.

Everybody knows that Nacho is a big fan of Manny. Hell, Manny is treated like a God in Mexico.

No boxer in Mexico is treated like a God. In the contrary, the Mexican people are never content with what a Mexican boxer accomplishes.

Nacho is a good trainer but also teach his men dirty tricks like stepping on foot of the opponent. Marquez didn't beat Pacquiao at any fight but actually lost in three of them aside from Dela Hoya's lost to Pacquiao. Which he was heared clearly at the corner telling Oscar to quit cause it's a futility to continue.
