Because Arum is all about risk/reward~

There is a reward for Donaire winning this is the biggest fight out there for him and really the only way he could grow into something more than he is currently, so if Arum liked his chances he would willing take the risk.

Arum didn't get where he is being a fool and he knows the game probably as good as anyone, so how he feels about his guys and what they are capable of is very important.

If you can't get that there is no point in talking to you, on this matter.

We can also talk about Chavez Jr and Arum admitting to protecting him from Martinez. Promoters know their fighters, they know the game and they know what their fighters are capable of.

I knock Arum as much as anyone, but he does things for a reason not randomly. Top Rank would not be what it is if not for Arum, it sucks sometimes because Arum interests don't always align with the fans but Arum always does what is best for Top Rank.

That is one of the keys when listening to what Arum has to say, you can't just listen to him and take him at face value but if you know how it benefits him he is easy enough to understand. He also says some interesting stuff when it benefits him, even the truth sometimes.

Arum is crooked but Golden Boy is no better.

in the 122 lbs div.... there is not other name that would make Donaire more money than Mares....Rigo wouldn't do much for a PPV type of fight. No disrispect to Rigo, but is the naked truth.

Rigo re-signed w/Top Stank to get a fight with Donaire. If that doesn't happen there will be a problem...

Same thing with Floyd. Floyd is even more greedier than Bob Arum.

I understand why folks hate arum but please look at Schaeffer's own track record..I can't stand the hypocrisy in here when it comes to top rank and GBP..same bullshhh practices under different names. Schaeffer is just as bad as Arum. Folks also forget that Schaeffer and Oscar have been angry at bob because he's offered their fighters more money to join him than they offered to retain them. If Schaeffer is so confident Mares will win give Arum what he wants you'll have all the belts in the division if your guy wins. BTW Rigo would get destroyed by donaire..he just got chin tapped in that last fight by a guy not known as a power hitter..if he was dancing like that trying to survive a round Donaire floors him for sure.

Man you sound like your supporting top rank? You must love Doniare or something give arum what he wants? What? So give a fighter you build who has a bright future to another company and you can't participate in the actual say. Do you think arum would do the same? Golden Boy is a much, much, much much better organization than top rank... Atleast they are willing to do cross promotions... But in the end that stable is gonna sink real real soon.
